The dimensions that turn a subject into a field of meaning rather than a pile of related material.
Every Clearing begins with a subject, but the subject alone is not the model. The useful unit is the context field around that subject: the minimum set of authored and derived dimensions that allow a reader or agent to understand what the thing is, why it exists, what shapes it, what bears on it, and where the inquiry is still open.
The model should remain bounded. Musewoods is not attempting to build a universal ontology of the world. It needs enough semantic structure to preserve intellectual relationships faithfully and to assemble useful context without turning authors into database administrators.

These dimensions are not nine compulsory boxes on every rendered page. They are the semantic vocabulary available to a Clearing. The renderer should compose from what the subject genuinely needs rather than filling empty sections to satisfy a template.
Meaning Before Inventory
Canonical meaning is short enough to orient
The Meaning dimension should state the subject's intellectual center of gravity without attempting to replace the deeper corpus. For the Converged Enterprise, the useful formulation is not an encyclopedic definition of enterprise software; it is the proposition that AI changes the organization when software can participate in governed delegation rather than merely recommend actions.
The originating question keeps the idea honest
A sophisticated concept becomes easier to evaluate when the problem that produced it remains visible. The Question dimension prevents Musewoods from presenting every new construct as if it appeared fully formed. It preserves the inadequacy, friction, or possibility that caused the inquiry to begin.
Origin creates lineage rather than mythology
The Origin dimension should name antecedents, experiments, failures, prior architectures, or observations that materially shaped the subject. Lineage is not decorative history; it allows later readers to distinguish what was inherited, what changed, and what was genuinely new.
Conditions expose hidden dependencies
Ideas often travel farther than the conditions that made them valid. A Clearing should make those conditions visible. A governance architecture may depend on reconstructable evidence; a regenerative practice may depend on soil, climate, and operational discipline; a venture thesis may depend on a market transition that is still uncertain.
Tensions Keep The Clearing Alive
A mature context system should resist the temptation to make every subject look settled. Many of the most important Musewoods territories are defined by competing forces: autonomy and accountability, exploration and execution, centralized control and local agency, precision and adaptability, speed and institutional legitimacy. Naming those tensions often teaches more than adding another paragraph of explanation because it shows why intelligent people can disagree while operating from the same evidence.
Tensions also create a durable bridge between current understanding and future inquiry. When a new artifact enters Musewoods, it can strengthen one side of a tension, reveal a false dichotomy, introduce a new constraint, or show that the framing itself has become obsolete.
Evidence Has A Role, Not Just A Citation

Research, operating experience, or field observation may increase confidence in a thesis or architectural choice. The Clearing should preserve what proposition the evidence bears on rather than merely storing a citation nearby.

Contrary evidence belongs in the same context field. A useful Clearing does not curate only affirming material; it helps the reader see where the subject is contested or conditional.

Examples often clarify mechanism or consequence without establishing general validity. The relationship grammar should distinguish illustration from proof so the reader is not asked to infer more than the source supports.
The Frontier

Every living Clearing should expose what remains unresolved unless the subject is intentionally historical. The Frontier may contain missing evidence, fragile assumptions, unresolved architecture, contradictory observations, untested applications, or questions whose answer could materially change the current model. The goal is not to eliminate uncertainty; it is to locate it precisely enough that future work can begin from the right edge.
Context Lenses
The same subject should be viewable through different cognitive lenses without fragmenting into unrelated pages. A canonical lens set can begin with Meaning · Origins · System · Evidence · Tensions · Practice · Frontier. The set is intentionally interpretive rather than navigational: selecting a lens changes how the reader sees the same context field.
